Fencing in Glasgow

fencing in Glasgow

The art of fencing is an ancient and noble art, written about and taught by masters from the medieval period until the modern day. The earliest fencing manuscript dates to the late 13th or early 14th century, and in the 15th and 16th centuries, more than a hundred manuscripts and books were written on the subject.

We teach various forms of fencing in Glasgow: medieval German longsword, the Scottish basket-hilted broadsword, the long and slender rapier, and even some classical foil fencing. If you want to learn more about fighting with European swords, then we can help you!

Our instructors have years of experience teaching historical sword fighting, and have taught at national and international events. We practise what we teach, putting our skills to the test in competitive settings, and have amassed quite a collection of medals and awards from competitions across the UK, Europe, and the USA.

Feel free to come along to one of our regular weekly classes and have a go, or even sit and watch a session to see if it would be of interest to you. Send us an email if you would like to ask us any questions beforehand, or just swing by and speak to the instructor on the night.
