Kettlebells are nothing more than a round weight attached to a handle. Despite this apparent simplicity, they are a very versatile piece of equipment and can be used in a wide variety of exercises. In our kettlebell classes in Glasgow, we make use of this variety to holistically train the entire body. Rather than focus on a specific body part in any given class, we make sure that no part is neglected in any given class.
Some exercises are performed at a slower rate, while others are performed explosively to develop power, particularly in the hips. These explosive lifts will be of particular benefit to martial artists, as the ability to move rapidly and powerfully will transfer over into practice of any martial art.
We also have a strong emphasis on structure in our kettlebell classes. We firmly believe that all lifts should be taught with an emphasis on correct stability and engaging the core muscles. This will not only make those lifts more efficient, but will also help to prevent injury and to teach students correct bio-mechanics.
Kettlebells are ultimately a fun and effective way to holistically develop strength and structure throughout your entire body.
